Class 4100 Military Spec Chassis

The Class 4100 Military Spec Chassis are convection cooled military tested chassis designs.  These chassis’ are available in 1U through 12U rack heights.  They support various types of passive backplanes, PICMG, motherboards and single board computers.  These chassis are also characterised by their superior structural strength and scalability.  They are perfect for rugged and defence applications.

The Class 4100 Military Spec Chassis are convection cooled military tested reference designs for Chassis.  These chassis incorporate state of the art features tailored to specific applications and environment conditions.  In addition to this, the class 4100 chassis are available in 1U through 12U rack heights.  They also support various types of passive backplanes, PICMG, motherboards and single board computers.  Additional backplane types also supported by these chassis include VME, VME64x, VXS, OpenVPX, etc., CompactPCI, PCIe, PXI, or active motherboards in ATX or Server form factors.  These Chassis also support custom and hybrid host board form factors.

In addition to the features listed above, the 4100 mil-spec chassis also have superior structural strength, virtually non-existent torsional flex and scalability.  They are also low cost, low maintenance, have aggressive and controllable airflow and low MTTR.  Furthermore, each chassis model has undergone Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in order to fully optimise mechanical design. Furthermore, Nova’s engineering process also includes static and dynamic analysis to determine natural frequency in order to  characterise vibration and shock performance.

Please note that some models accommodate Nova’s System Health Monitor (SEM).  This microcontroller-based, I2C monitoring system, monitors and controls key chassis parameters in order to ensure optimal operating conditions.  SEM uses local or remote communication ports, SEM’s HTTP and SNMP to perform its functions.  Thus allowing for fast and simple setup as a result.  SEM monitors qualities such as temperature, fan speed and input and output power levels.  SEM can also perform system power-downs under fault conditions and battlefield short operations when enabled.
