Recessed Front Crate 4700

The Recessed Front Crate 4700 are rack-mountable and convection cooled flush front crate designs.  These crates range in size from 1U to 12U, accommodate popular backplane types and support multiple systems. These crates are perfect for rugged and defence applications.

The Recessed Front Crate 4700 feature a full portfolio of rack-mountable and convection cooled flush front crate designs.  These crates range in size from 1U to 12U.  They also accommodate popular backplane types including 3U and 6U form factors of CompactPCI (cPCI), VME, VME64x, VXS, OpenVPX, or VPX.  These enclosures can also support multiple systems.  In order to do this, they split or discrete backplanes with a common or dedicated power supple to each “segment”.

In addition to the traits listed above, these recessed front crates provide ease of access to front panel I/O while leaving room for challenging cable routing.  Furthermore, the sub-rack and rear transition module (RTM) also comply with IEEE 1101.1/.10 and /.11.  To top things off, the sub-rack is also configurable for 3U or 6U x 80mm modules.

Please note that power system options include AC or DC input, internally mounted or PICMG 2.11 plug-in styles; single, dual, triple or quad outputs up to 2kW.

Finally, users have the option of including Nova’s System Environmental Monitor (SEM).  This system allows the user to locally or remotely monitor fan speed, temperature, input/output power and user-definable I/O.  Both HTTP and SNMP protocols are included in SEM’s firmware.

Key Features of the Recessed Front Crate 4700

  • Add functionality with peripherals and customisable front I/O panels
  • Extensive use of captive hardware
  • System Environmental Monitor (SEM) available as an option
