Nova’s System Environmental Monitor (SEM) is a stand-alone small-form-factor PCB module. This module monitors and controls an enclosures operating environment. For example, SEM has the ability to monitor:
- internal temperatures
- input and output voltage
- fan speeds
- a variety of customer defined I/O.
If a unit exceeds its operating parameters, System Environmental Monitor (SEM) will reset/power down, sound an alarm and change fan speeds to stabilise temperatures. Additionally, configurations to SEM can also be made in order to correct actions and support your project.
Furthermore, installation is also a breeze. Users can place modules and sensors anywhere in an enclosure to support a project. In addition to this, SEM is also internet accessible and network based. As a result it also HTTP and SNMP protocols. Finally, communication with SEM is easy and convenient. This is thanks to a user friendly set up utility and fast onboard ethernet ports. As a result, users can easily configure or change operating parameters to suit their application.
