An Embedded data acquisition system for the future is the Dewesoft OBSIDIAN®.
Based on an open architecture, low power LINUX based ARM Processor. The OBSIDIAN® is a data logger, stand alone data acquisition, real time system and signal conditioning frontend, all at the same time.
In addition, Dewesoft RT is a new embedded data acquisition software that runs on the Linux operating system platform. It features lightweight core components for data acquisition, channel configuration, data storage and standard interface support. For items such as XCP, CAN, USB, Ethernet and EtherCAT. It is capable of fast data transfer and real time operation in control or watchdog functionality.

EMBEDDED PROCESSING: Built-in dual-core 1.5 GHz ARM processor with Linux OS and DewesoftRT. Therefore, perfect for embedded applications. Such as data logging, cloud data collection, real-time control and Linux DAQ.
DATA STORAGE: 4GB of Internal storage. Expandable up to 1TB with SD Card or a USB Type C External HDD or SSD for large amounts of data.
LOW POWER CONSUMPTION: Extremely powerful. Designed to operate with very low power consumption. Therefore, making it the perfect choice where power consumption is important.
HIGH-END SIGNAL CONDITIONING: OBSIDIAN® Core Amplifiers offers the same high-end signal conditioning modules as IOLITE DAQ and control system. Amplifiers are available for Voltage, Current, Resistance, Strain gauge, Bridge, Digital Counters, RTDs, and Thermocouples.
WIDE TEMPERATURE RANGE: Labelled to run at -10 to 50°C. However, certain configurations can operate in the -40° to 85°C temperature range.
EXTERNAL MASTER MODE: The primary EtherCAT® bus can be switch to external mode. Allowing OBSIDIAN to be used like a regular IOLITE system for full speed buffered DAQ to a computer running DewesoftX Data Acquisition Software.
SECONDARY ETHERCAT BUS: A secondary EtherCAT® bus used in parallel to provide real time data to any 3rd party control system. Such as Labview, Beckhoff, Clemessy Syclone, MTS Flex Test, Acontis and similar EtherCAT masters.
GREAT CONNECTIVITY: Standard data interfaces are available to transfer the data to real-time controllers, cloud servers, Industry 4.0 clients, using a wide variety of standard data interfaces, such as EtherCAT®, OPC UA, XCP, and CAN.
RUGGED DESIGN: The OBSIDIAN® R8w model features shock and vibration ratings up to 75 g. In addition, IP67 protection against water, dust, and smoke, and a MIL-810F environmental rating.
REDUNDANT POWER SUPPLIES: Switch between OBSIDIAN redundant power supplies, ensuring uninterrupted availability even for the most demanding test applications.
CONFIGURE USING DEWESOFTM MOBILE APP: Configure and view live measured data on all OBSIDIAN devices using the DewsoftM Mobile App. Compatible with iOS and Android devices. Download it from your preferred app store.

MULTIPLE CHASSIS OPTIONS
OBSIDIAN® R8: Designed for various testing applications. The OBSIDIAN® R8 chassis has IP50 protection and can operate in -10°C to 50°C temperature range. Some configuration variations allow operating from -40°C to 85°C. OBSIDIAN® R8 can hold up to 8 signal amplifier cards.
OBSIDIAN® R8w: Designed for the field and toughest testing conditions. Featuring an IP67-rated chassis that’s resilient to dust and water. It operates flawlessly in extreme temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C. In addition, it handles shocks up to 75G, and meets MIL-810F standards for vibration resistance. OBSIDIAN® R8w can hold up to 8 signal amplifier cards. This chassis also boosts an integrated WiFi module and 10 Hz GPS/GNSS module.
OBSIDIAN® R12: This 19-inch rack-compatible chassis option is designed for higher channel count applications. Therefore, more suitable for indoor applications such as in test-bench integrations. The R12 chassis offers IP30 protection. Therefore, it operates at -10°C to 50°C temperature range. However, some configuration variations allow operating from -40°C to 85°C. OBSIDIAN® R12 chassis can hold up to 12 signal amplifier cards.
