OEM Tilt Vertical Reference Sensor 3DM-CX5-AR

The MicroStrain 3DM-CX5-AR is a High-Performance Tilt and VRU System for OEM applications.  It combines advanced accelerometers, gyroscopes, and magnetometers to deliver real time accurate 3D orientation data including roll, pitch and yaw. With precise roll and pitch accuracy makes it suitable for platform stabilisation, antenna pointing, usage monitoring and other Industrial Applications

The HBK Microstrain 3DM-CX5-AR is an OEM Tilt Vertical Reference Sensor that provides precise Attitude Reference (AR) Information.

Firstly, this unit is a combination of a Triaxial Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Magnetometer and Temperature Sensors.  Therefore, it ensures comprehensive and precise measurement of motion, orientation, and environmental conditions.  Resulting in accurate and reliable data.

In addition, this unit has Dual on-board processors with an auto adaptive extended Kalman Filter making it highly responsive in real time applications.  This set up enhances the accuracy of dynamic attitude estimates.

Another benefit of this product is the high performance, low drift gyros and low noise accelerometer.  This is because these components ensure stability and minimal error in measurements including those in challenging environments.

Finally, the core functionality remains the same as the “G Series”.  However, the OEM version is designed for inclusion into a larger system rather than direct customer use and that is why it is several grams lighter.

SOFTWARE

SensorConnect software is a user-friendly program for device configuration. MIP Monitor (MicroStrain Internet Protocol) can also be used. Both packages provide for device configuration, live data monitoring, and recording. Alternatively, the MIP Data Communications Protocol is available for development of custom interfaces and easy OEM integration. The sensor operates independent of computer platform, operating system, or coding language.
