Miniature Biaxial Accelerometer 3054B

Model 3054B is a miniature biaxial accelerometer. It is designed to be inserted up to 12 metres into 8mm diameter heat transfer tube for the purpose of measuring a transverse acceleration of the tube.

Applications in which it is used include:

  • Chillers in nuclear plants
  • Cooling Towers
  • Large Energy Stations
  • Measures vibration in two axes while inserted in a tube
  • Vibration measurements in heat transfer tubes in HVAC units

The Dytran 3054B Model is a miniature biaxial accelerometer.

Firstly, this model incorporates two quartz sensing elements operating in shear mode. It is internally isolated from sensor case. Also enclosed by faraday shield for electrostatic noise immunity. Secondly, this model uses 8 beryllium copper springs attached to the outside of the sensor body. This guides the unit into the tube and allows for slight variations in tube inside diameter. Also allowing for some build up of foreign materials inside the tube.

Other features include:

  • Stainless Steel
  • Hermetic
  • Case Isolated
  • Biaxial
  • IEPE
