The Huntron Workstation Remote Control is a feature that allows tests to be created in Huntron Workstation Software but controlled remotely. Firstly, this process provides most of the functionality needed with minimal programming. Remote control is used by programs linked to the Huntron Client VB.NET DLL. The DLL provides the work functions to control the Huntron Workstation application.
Secondly, it saves system development time and gives you the power to automate your rest measurements. Development can occur in any .NET compatible language. Although, optimum development in VB.NET can be achieved with the sample application and source code provided to assist you with development.
Example of Huntron Workstation Remote Control
A Huntron customer required the ability to test unpackaged RF FET modules by precisely placing eight pins and executing the test. A custom head design was added to the Huntron Access 2 Prober and the entire system was enclosed in a specialised cabinet. The custom head design consisted of: Holsworth RF Synthesizer, Aeroflex fixed coaxial attenuator and Boonton RF Power Sensor Meter. The power meter interfaced with a multi point spring probe assembly which is lower to the PCB under test using a leadscrew motor assembly.
Finally, the motor assembly allowed the system to handle the heavier load of combined assemblies mounted on the head. The customer wrote their own instrument measurement software. However, they used Huntron Workstation Remote Control to test point locations and Access Prober Movement.
