Firstly, this Rugged IP68 IMU AHRS Sensor has a roll/pitch accuracy of 0.25° statically and 0.5° dynamically. In addition, it includes an integrated magnetometer for absolute heading tracking.
Secondly, it’s designed for demanding applications. Featuring an onboard Extended Kalman Filter for attitude estimation. As well as a user-selectable accelerometer, and gyroscope range. Housed in a compact and low-profile ruggedised IP68 package. The operating temperature range is from -40 to +85°C.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS Rugged IMU AHRS Sensor
- External Clock Synchronisation: tighter synchronisation with external sensors like LiDAR or cameras to improve state estimation.
- Tactical Grade Gyro: with improved accuracy during dead reckoning
- Custom Event Trigger System: simplifies configuration of context based events and frees up CPU on vehicle main board.
- Full Temperature Range Calibration: Consistent and reliable performance over entire temperature range
- Adjustable Sampling Rates: Faster response to vehicle dynamics
- Low Latency: Reduces navigation errors from clock drift when combining with external aiding sensors
- User Adjustable Gyro & Accel Range: Range flexibility enables improved noise performance.
EKF for Orientation Estimation
- Adaptive EKF for Orientation: Reduces attitude error due to linear acceleration
- IMU Bias Error Tracking: Improves performance over traditional complementary filters
- Integrated Magnetometer: Allows for absolute heading tracking (AHRS and INS only)
SOFTWARE
SensorConnect software is a user-friendly program for device configuration. MIP Monitor (MicroStrain Internet Protocol) can also be used. Both packages provide for device configuration, live data monitoring, and recording. Alternatively, the MIP Data Communications Protocol is available for development of custom interfaces and easy OEM integration. The sensor operates independent of computer platform, operating system, or coding language.
