The 3200 Class Hybrid Cooled ATRs is a portfolio of hybrid cooled enclosures. These enclosures work through defined air cooling over a sealed, conduction cooled chassis. The 3200 class chassis also conform to ARINC 404A sizes (1/4 Short to 1 ½ Long). In addition to this, they are also fully scalable and capable of housing all eurocard boar types, form factors and slot counts.
Furthermore, all NIS ATR chassis use a machined aerospace grade aluminium alloy #6061-T651 housing. They also contain aluminium internal structures. As a result, these chassis provide superior strength and rigidity. They also ensure MIL-STD-461 compliance for EMI/EMC.
Nova engineering specialises in advanced thermal management and packaging techniques. They also use the most efficient cooling methods. These methods are based on the environment and program specifications of each chassis. As a result, FEA thermal analysis presentations validate the design direction of these chassis under worst case scenarios (high altitude, high ambient temperature and full power load). To top things off, fan types, heat sink geometry (thickness, length and orientation) as well as heat piping or advanced materials available when required. As a result, the calss 3200 ATRs offer the most aggressive cooling options for ATRs.
The Class 3100 ATR Chassis accommodate up to an 18-slot cPCI, VME, or VPX backplane. They are also fully compliant with IEEE 1101.2. The internal subrack is also fully machined and ready to accept various types of wedgelocks. This includes wedgelocks for 3U or 6U convection-cooled plug-in boards on 0.8”, 0.85” or 1.0” pitch.
Please note that power supply options include fixed or plug in style power supplies with outputs up to 2kW. Alternatively, input power options include single or three phase VAC inputs including 100-264 VAC @ 47-63 Hz; 115 VAC @ 400 Hz; and nominal VDC inputs from 12VDC up to 270VDC. Custom power systems are also available.
Finally, I/O connector options include D38999 Series-III, MIL-STD-26482 and other circular types commonly found in military electronic systems. An I/O printed circuit board can also be designed to reduce cabling complexity for moderate to large unit volume.
