New 2U Rackmount Receiver Combines Dual-Channel Telemetry Reception, Touchscreen Control, Diversity Processing and Flexible Network Options Metromatics has announced the availability of the Lumistar LS-28-DRSM-R2D Dual-Channel Telemetry Receiver. This flexible 2U rackmount receiver supports telemetry ground receiving applications that demand reliable …
Dewesoft has expanded its IOLITE data acquisition platform with new IOLITE DAQ modules for high-density voltage and current acquisition, isolated low-voltage measurement, and advanced temperature and resistance testing. The expanded module range gives engineers more flexibility when configuring IOLITE systems for …
An autonomous mobile robot may know exactly where it is—but does it know whether its payload is safe to carry? Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) increasingly move materials through warehouses, factories, hospitals, laboratories and other industrial environments. …
Testing a launch vehicle involves much more than measuring vibration during lift-off. Engineers must validate structures, propulsion systems, avionics, electrical power, ground equipment and recovery procedures—often while collecting thousands of synchronised measurements under extreme conditions. NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) and …
When Running Ethernet Cable Becomes the Problem: Wireless vs Wired Remote I/O Connecting a sensor, instrument or actuator to a control system sounds straightforward—until the required Ethernet cable must cross a roadway, production line, hazardous area or existing facility. At that …
Why distance matters during field balancing Balancing a fan, rotor or other rotating assembly normally involves more than one measurement. The technician records the original vibration, adds a known trial weight, calculates a correction and then checks the result. Depending on …
When support ends but the mission continues A rugged computer can remain central to a vehicle, aircraft or other mission-critical platform long after its original components become difficult to source. The operational requirement may not have changed at all. However, the …
Small torque fluctuations inside a gearbox, electric motor or driveline can create noticeable noise and vibration. Yet engineers often struggle to measure these events because the component may simultaneously transmit thousands of newton metres of torque. A conventional torque sensor may …
Chemical tank level monitoring gives operators remote visibility of stored liquids across industrial, agricultural and processing facilities. As a result, businesses can improve inventory planning, schedule deliveries and respond sooner when tank levels move outside nominated limits. LevelCon combines compatible industrial …
Modern military and specialist helicopters can carry sophisticated avionics, sensors, communications equipment and mission systems. Depending on the aircraft and its role, many of these systems generate data that may need to be captured, time-synchronised, processed or securely stored during flight. …
