Variable Capacitance MEMS Accelerometer 7604

Series 7604 is a variable capacitance accelerometer that is used as a drop in replacement for piezoresistive units in new or existing zero to medium frequency instrumentation applications. Available in various g ranges.

The Dytran 7604 series is a variable capacitance MEMS accelerometer.

Firstly, this sensor incorporates a MEMS Capacitive sensing. As well as an advanced ASIC to simulate piezoresistive bridge operation. It also contains a VC accelerometer chip with high drive, low impedance buffering. This allows the units to respond to both DC and AC acceleration.

Secondly, the onboard regulation minimises supply voltage variation effects. Therefore, making them insensitive to temperature changes and thermal gradients. The sensors are hermetically sealed and feature an integrated circuit amplifier and differential output stages. Incorporating a flying leads integral cable with an environmental boot. As well as a laser sealed housing to allow operation in tough environments.

Finally this sensor series uses the same power supply as piezoresistive and strain gauge sensors. They can then operate as a standalone differential output accelerometers or in place of piezo resistive bridge type.
