NASA contacted WOLF Advanced Technology regarding a product for their Low Boom Flight Demonstration Vehicle Project. What they needed was a High Performance, Rugged Video Board with I/O that would be capable of tying together other products and requirements for the project. Items included a windowless fully electronic cockpit display, be able to provide 4K Video Capture, support a legacy critical safety analog flight capture system plus operate with specialised, real time operating system software.
WOLF has been developing these types of technologies for nearly twenty years. They refined an existing design to create the 3180 to meet the NASA requirement. The product had the ability to capture multiple 4K Video Systems, using CoaXPress and ARINC 818, and combine those items with legacy Analog I/O interfaces, making it the perfect hardware fit.
WOLF delivered the Rugged Video Board with I/O along with their AMD Processor (XMC-E9171-VO Board) used in the Real Time OS requirement.
