VITA 93 Multi-function I/O Module QMC730

The Acromag QMC730 is a versatile VITA 93 Multi-function I/O Module.  That combines analog inputs, analog outputs, digital I/O, and counter/timer functions in a compact, rugged design.

Engineered for high-density embedded systems, it delivers powerful signal processing and control capabilities ideal for industrial, aerospace, defence, and laboratory applications.

The Acromag QMC730 is a compact, rugged VITA 93 Multi-function I/O Module.  Firstly, it delivers powerful signal processing capabilities in a single, high-density unit. Offering a versatile combination of analog input, analog output, digital I/O, and counter/timer functions.  It is ideal for embedded applications in defence, aerospace, industrial automation, and laboratory systems.

The module is made to connect to a QMC-compliant carrier card. It uses a PCIe bus interface for fast and reliable communication with the host computer. Its small size and modular design are ideal for environments with SWaP-C constraints. These environments require mixed-signal data collection and control.

The QMC730 features eight analog input channels with 16-bit resolution and per-channel configuration for voltage range and calibration. High-speed A/D conversion (up to 791kHz) and a 1026-sample FIFO buffer allow precise, high-throughput data acquisition. Complementing the inputs, four analog output channels with 16-bit resolution support multiple operating modes.  Such as —direct, single, continuous, or FIFO—with software, timer, or external triggering for maximum application flexibility.

In addition to analog capability, the module includes sixteen TTL-compatible digital I/O channels.  Configurable in 8-bit groups for input or output. Programmable interrupts on bit-level changes or logic states enable efficient event-driven operation. A powerful 32-bit counter/timer subsystem supports waveform generation, event counting, pulse-width measurement, quadrature decoding, and watchdog functions.

Built to the VITA 93 small form factor (26 x 78.25mm).  The QMC730 is significantly smaller than PMC/XMC modules and optimised for high-density carrier card configurations. The rugged design includes conduction cooling support and extended temperature range operation, ensuring reliable performance in harsh environments. Integration is simplified via Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI), enabling onboard sensor data access through EEPROM and I²C.
