The Calculex RAPTOR is a Fibre Optic Splitter (FOS). Firstly, it is a high-performance solution for duplicating and routing fibre optic data streams. Typically, in mission-critical defence, aerospace, and high-bandwidth sensor applications. Initially designed with Calculex RAPTOR recorders in mind. But importantly not limited to them. This splitter can also integrate with other compatible recorders or systems that support matching fibre-optic standards.
In addition, by providing the front-end splitting required to integrate RAPTOR or other fibre products into a one-way high-speed fibre channel, the FOS effectively enables seamless connection of multiple downstream devices—such as mission data recorders, analysis systems, or real-time monitoring nodes—all while maintaining signal integrity and avoiding latency.
Key Features
24 In to 24 × 2 Out fibre lanes for flexible duplication and routing
Selectable lane speeds of 2, 10, or 25 Gbps to match a wide range of sensor and network requirements
RS-232 control and status interface for easy configuration and health monitoring
Seamless system integration enabling high-speed fibre recording within complex system architectures
Rugged design engineered for defence and aerospace environments, ensuring reliability under extreme conditions
Benefits
Effortless expansion: Duplicate or distribute high-speed fibre channels to multiple endpoints without active repeaters or signal degradation.
Flexible architecture: Software-configurable routing allows quick reconfiguration for new mission profiles or evolving test requirements.
Future-ready compatibility: Works natively with Calculex RAPTOR fibre optic recorders, while maintaining the openness to integrate with other fibre-optic or Ethernet-based systems that share the same data rates and optical standards.
Reliability in harsh environments: Built to military ruggedness standards, ensuring continuous operation in demanding airborne, naval, or ground applications.
Typical Applications
Flight test instrumentation requiring duplication of ultra-high-speed sensor data streams for simultaneous recording and analysis
Electronic warfare (EW) and radar systems distributing multi-gigabit data from AESA radars, EO/IR sensors, and distributed aperture systems
Intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) platforms feeding parallel mission recorders and live-monitoring consoles
Ground or maritime defence networks where multiple secure endpoints need access to the same fibre data feed
