Inertial Navigation System – NAVION

The NAVION® is an Inertial Navigation System platform.  The device provides accurate position, orientation, velocity, and acceleration measurements on any moving object.

Delivered with a dual antenna for heading and RTK correction configuration give precise positioning accuracy down to 1cm. Plus it includes DewesoftX Software.

Designed to meet the need of navigational applications applicable to many industries such as Maritime, Automotive, Aircraft, Railway, Agriculture, Transportation, Industrial Equipment, and Industrial Robotics.

The Dewesoft NAVION® is a high-performance inertial navigation system.

Firstly, measurements are estimated by the Kalman-based Algorithm.  This means it combines the GNSS positioning with the measurements that are provided by a MEMS based inertial measurement unit.

Secondly, the device is housed in an IP68 rated enclosure.  Therefore, making it waterproof, shockproof, dustproof, and able to be used in most conditions.  In addition, it operates in extreme temperatures from -40 to +71°C and suitable for ADAS testing and vehicle dynamics tests.

Therefore, the NAVION® i2 provides accurate positioning even when GNSS satellite reception is limited.  Making perfect for applications where robust, continuous position, velocity and heading navigation data is required.  Also, it includes RTK  (known as real-time kinematics) and offers position accuracy down to 1cm.

Main Features of the NAVION® Inertial Navigation System includes:

AFFORDABLE INS SYSTEM: The NAVION® Inertial Navigation System (INS) offers superior price-performance ratio.  In addition, it can be used in several navigational measurement applications.

RUGGED IP68 DESIGN: IP68 Standard protection.  It is also resistant to shocks, falls and even water.  Operates in extreme environments and temperatures from -40°C to +71°C.

REAL TIME KINEMATICS: The real time kinematics (RTK) option on NAVION devices is turned on by default.  Improves position accuracy down to 1cm.

DISTRIBUTABLE + SYNCHRONISE TOGETHER: Devices can be distributed and synchronised together over ethernet connection.  As well as Dewesoft DS-WiFi wireless system without additional PCs.

DUAL ANTENNA HEADING:  Instant and accurate heading determination.  Two antennas included as standard.  Therefore, precise heading information within seconds.

CAN BUS OUTPUT: NAVION® i2 model features CAN bus output port.  Therefore, once device is configured and initialised the unit can operate by itself without connection to DewesoftX software.  Making it ready for integration into 3rd party systems.

HIGH PERFORMANCE IMU: NAVION® features integrated MEMS based IMU.  In addition, with gyroscopes, accelerometers, magnetometers, and pressure sensors.  It can also operate as a 9 degrees of freedom (DOF) IMU.  IMU aided navigation reduces errors caused by GNSS outages.

PPS OUTPUT:  NAVION® i2 features a PPS synchronisation port via LEMO 4-Pin connector.  Therefore, it can be used as the synchronisation clock source for all other Dewesoft DAQ devices.

FAST ETHERNET CONNECTION: Offers secure and fast data streaming via Ethernet Communication Interface to the PC running DewesoftX software.

EXTERNAL INPUTS: Additional RS232 input for RTK GNSS corrections.  Along with support of CMR+, RTCM 2.3 and RTCM 3.x. and a digital input for either odometer or brake pedal switch sensor.

SUPPORTS GNSS SATELLITE CONSTELLATIONS: Such as GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, AltBOC, E5a, E5b, NaviC(IRNSS).

DEWESOFT FLEXIBILITY: Connect additional analog sensors.  Such as Strain Gauge, Force, Temperature, CAN bus, GPS and other data sources.  In addition, measure extra parameters at the same time and all perfectly synchronised.
