What voltage does your application require?
Metromatics offer Managed PoE Switches with either a standard voltage of 48-55 VDC or a low voltage option for scenarios where only 12V to 55V DC is available. Powering PoE devices is critical, as most applications rely on DC power for its reliability, typically at 48V. However, when a Powered Device (PD) requires 48V but only lower voltages are available, a switch with a built-in booster becomes necessary.
This low voltage option features an input range of 12-55VDC and an internal voltage booster. Thereby, providing an efficient solution by delivering the full 48VDC PoE output. These switches adhere to active PoE standards. Therefore, supporting IEEE 802.3 af/at (up to 30W) and IEEE 802.3bt (up to 90W) in a single, compact device.
Managed low voltage models are available in configurations with 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, and 12 ports.
For low voltage models, look for model names ending with a -24
Do you need Fibre Connectivity?
Fibre optic cables, made from thin glass. In addition, they are essential for transmitting digital information over long distances. Therefore, providing the fastest and most reliable connectivity available. Our Managed Power over Ethernet (PoE) switches are designed with fibre connectivity to ensure a dependable network for long-distance communication and protection against signal interference.
These unmanaged switches offer options with SC/ST connectors and SFP ports, supporting up to 26 ports of fibre connectivity. They are available in various configurations, including 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 16, 18, 20, and 26 ports, making them versatile for different network needs.
Descriptions of Models
- “T” at the end of the model name indicates extended temperature range generally -40° to 75°C. Whereas standard temperature is -10° to 60°C.
- “M” in the model name indicates multi mode fibre connectivity for short – medium distances
- “S3” in the model name indicates that the switch has single-mode fibre ports with SC connectors, suitable for applications requiring long-distance communication.
- “ST-M” in the model name indicates designed for short to medium-distance network connections using multi-mode fibre with ST connectors
- “bt” in the model name indicates that the switch supports the IEEE 802.3bt standard. Therefore, making it capable of delivering higher power to connected devices (up to 90W per port).
- “SFP” in the model name indicates that the switch includes one or more SFP ports. It is a compact, hot-swappable transceiver used in networking equipment to interface with fibre optic cables or copper Ethernet cables. SFP modules are flexible. In addition, they can be swapped out depending on networking requirements, making these switches highly adaptable for various applications.
- “10G-SFP” in the model name indicates that the switch is equipped with SFP ports capable of handling 10 Gbps data transfer rates. Perfect for data centres.
- LNX series consists of industrial Ethernet switches that do not provide Power over Ethernet (PoE). These switches are designed to connect various network devices such as computers, PLCs, and other industrial equipment in harsh environments that have their own power source. Used in industrial settings like manufacturing floors, transportation systems, and other environments where rugged, reliable network connectivity is needed.
