Multi-Axis Load Cell Sensors Explained
A Multi-Axis Load Cell is a special sensor that can measure different forces and twists (torques) all at the same time and in various directions. Think of it like a super sensor that can feel pushes, pulls, and turns in multiple ways. Often referred to as Multi Component.
These sensors can measure up to 6 kinds of forces at once. This includes straight pushes/pulls (like Fx, Fy, Fz) and twists (like Torque Mx, My, Mz) in three main directions. After measuring, the sensor changes these forces into an electric signal.
Our partner, FUTEK, makes many types of these sensors. Some can measure forces in 2, 3, or even 6 different ways. They even have special ones for cars!
Where are these sensors used? Lots of places! Robots, spaceships, and cars are just a few examples. Because they can measure so many forces, they help in understanding and controlling how machines work and move.
