Ruggedised Performance with Natural Airflow Cooling
Firstly, the Airtop3, is a ruggedised, small-form-factor, fanless IoT edge server. Designed for high-performance computing in industrial environments. Its innovative design harnesses natural airflow cooling technology, allowing it to dissipate up to 300W of heat without a fan. Therefore, ensuring silent operation and reliable performance in challenging conditions.
High Performance and Capacity
The Airtop3 is powered by 9th-generation Intel Xeon E Processors and Intel Core i9 Processors. Including the powerful 95W Xeon E-2288G and Core i9-9900K, delivering exceptional computing power. The system supports up to 128GB of DDR4 RAM. In addition, its storage capacity includes six devices: two NVMe SSDs up to 2TB each and four 2.5” SATA 3 HDDs/SSDs with RAID support.
Rich Connectivity and Expansion
Airtop3 offers comprehensive connectivity options. Including dual GbE ports, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and 4G modem support. The I/O setup includes six USB 3.1 ports, three RS232 ports, and audio outputs, along with support for three 4K displays.
For specialised applications, the Airtop3 provides modular enhancements:
- Enhanced Graphics: A PCIe x16 slot with Natural Airflow cooling supports up to 160W Quadro RTX 4000 graphics, making it ideal for edge analytics tasks like image recognition and machine learning.
- Enhanced Storage: Storage can be expanded with an NVM3 card, adding three additional NVMe cards and boosting the storage capacity to over 60TB with a remarkable data rate of over 9500 MBps.
- Enhanced Networking: Additional FACE Modules offer functional enhancements:
- FM-LAN adds four independent GbE ports for routing applications.
- FM-PoE adds four GbE ports with 802.3af PoE source, simplifying setups involving IP cameras.
- FM-OPLN adds two GbE SFP+ optical LAN ports for longer-range, higher-security networking.
Natural Airflow Technology
Airtop3 utilises Natural Airflow Technology to generate airflow by the heat waste of the CPU and GPU, cooling them in the process. This system includes:
- Massive Copper Plates: The CPU and GPU are thermally coupled to CNC-machined copper plates, mirror-polished for optimal heat transfer.
- Heat Pipes: Three criss-cross heat pipes distribute heat evenly across an air-tubes panel, comparable to a vapour chamber.
- Air-Tubes Panel: 14 air-tubes, extruded from a single aluminium block, stimulate airflow, doubling the efficiency of conventional heatsinks.
Durability and User-Friendly Design
The Airtop3 features a 7.5-litre all-aluminium housing. Designed for shock and vibration resistance. In addition, it includes no moving parts or filters, making it maintenance-free and reliable over time. The system operates across a wide temperature range of -40ºC to 70ºC and comes with a 5-year warranty.
Modular and Monitoring
The Airtop3 supports Compulab FACE Modules, providing various networking and I/O capabilities. The new FM-AT3 module includes two USB 3.1 gen 2 ports (one Type-C), one USB 3.1 gen 1 port, front audio jacks, a mini-PCIe socket with SIM card, a micro-SD slot, and diagnostic LEDs for troubleshooting.
Additionally, the Airtop3 features an I3M OLED display, showing runtime information such as clock rate, temperature, and power consumption.
