Wireless Remote Digital I/O Module (Wi-Fi Ethernet) NTW2110

The Acromag NTW2110 Wireless Remote Digital I/O Module provides a fast and reliable way to connect switches, relays, and alarm signals to PLC and SCADA systems over secure Wi-Fi Ethernet networks.

With 16 bidirectional digital I/O channels and expandable BusWorks NT architecture, it enables flexible cabinet monitoring and distributed infrastructure control without installing new network cabling.

The Acromag NTW2110 is a Wireless Remote Digital I/O Module.  Firstly, it connects discrete field signals. Such as relay contacts, switches, and alarm outputs directly to PLC, SCADA, and IIoT systems over secure Wi-Fi Ethernet networks. It provides 16 bidirectional digital I/O channels to monitor and control on/off signals. It suits distributed infrastructure and industrial control use.It is ideal where Ethernet cabling is hard or impractical to install.

Part of the Acromag BusWorks NT remote I/O platform, the NTW2110 supports Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, OPC-UA, MQTT, and REST APIs. Systems can expand to 64 mixed I/O channels using NTX expansion modules under a single IP address.

Key Features

  • 16 bidirectional discrete I/O channels for monitoring relay contacts, switches, and alarm signals
  • Active-low inputs and sinking transistor outputs (up to 32 VDC) suitable for industrial control cabinets
  • Integrated dual-band Wi-Fi Ethernet connectivity (2.4 GHz / 5 GHz).  Perfect for remote panel monitoring without installing new network cabling
  • Includes an RJ45 Ethernet port for local configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting alongside its primary Wi-Fi Ethernet network interface
  • Direct integration with PLC, SCADA, and IIoT systems without requiring external gateways
  • Supports Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, OPC-UA, MQTT, and REST APIs
  • Expandable to 64 mixed signal I/O channels using NTX expansion modules under a single IP address
  • Built-in edge logic supports event-based local control without additional PLC programming
  • Rugged DIN-rail mounting design with operating temperature range −40 °C to +70 °C for infrastructure and industrial environments

Supported Industrial Protocols

The NTW2110 Wireless Remote Digital I/O Module integrates easily into existing automation environments using:

  • Modbus TCP
  • EtherNet/IP
  • PROFINET
  • OPC-UA
  • MQTT
  • REST API

This allows connection to PLC platforms, SCADA systems, and IIoT monitoring architectures without additional protocol converters.

Expandable BusWorks NT Remote I/O Architecture

The NTW2110 operates as a wireless interface module within the Acromag BusWorks NT modular I/O system.

A BusWorks NT node consists of either an NTW wireless interface module or an NTE wired Ethernet interface module combined with optional NTX expansion I/O modules.  The wired compatible product for this version is the NT2110.

Systems can support up to 64 mixed digital, analog, and temperature I/O channels under a single IP address.  Therefore, simplifying cabinet-level monitoring across both wired and wireless infrastructure environments.

Typical Applications

Control Cabinet Alarm Monitoring

Monitor discrete signals including:

  • enclosure door switches
  • fan failure alarms
  • power supply fault contacts
  • UPS status outputs

Common in transport infrastructure, signalling cabinets, and roadside equipment enclosures.

Pump Station Status Monitoring

Connect signals such as:

  • pump run / fault contacts
  • float switches
  • generator ready signals
  • breaker trip alarms

Supports remote monitoring via SCADA over Wi-Fi Ethernet networks.

Industrial Equipment Status Monitoring

Capture machine-level signals including:

  • relay outputs
  • alarm contacts
  • limit switches
  • valve position feedback signals

Extends monitoring capability without additional PLC cabinet wiring.

Remote Infrastructure Panels Without Ethernet Cabling

Deploy wireless remote digital I/O monitoring in:

  • signalling equipment enclosures
  • lighting control cabinets
  • utilities infrastructure panels
  • roadside monitoring cabinets
