CRY3203 High-Sensitivity Free-Field Microphone

The CRYSOUND CRY3203 is a 1/2-inch prepolarized measurement microphone for audible-range acoustic testing where a separate compatible preamplifier is used.

Its verified 3.15 Hz to 20 kHz ±2 dB response and 16 dBA to 146 dB dynamic range help acoustic engineers match sensitivity and measurement headroom to the test environment.

In addition, its Prepolarized cartridge; compatible CRYSOUND IEPE preamplifier required configuration defines how it connects to the measurement chain.

High-Sensitivity Free-Field Microphone for Application-Focused Engineering

CRY3203 uses a prepolarized sensing element for free-field measurement. It is a microphone cartridge and must be paired with a compatible preamplifier. Free-field response is relevant where the microphone measures sound arriving without dominant reflections, such as in anechoic rooms, controlled test areas and many product-noise setups. Selection should consider the expected minimum and maximum sound level, bandwidth, field type and connector.

Key Features and Benefits

  • 50 mV/Pa (-26 ±1.5 dB re 1 V/Pa) nominal sensitivity.
  • 15 Hz to 20 kHz ±2 dB frequency response.
  • 16 dBA to 146 dB dynamic range.
  • Prepolarized cartridge; compatible CRYSOUND IEPE preamplifier required.
  • IEC 61094-4 type WS2F.
  • Operating temperature: -30°C to +80°C.
  • Prepolarized design eliminates the need for an external polarisation voltage.

Integration and Configuration Considerations

This product is the microphone cartridge rather than a complete microphone set. Pair it with a mechanically and electrically compatible CRYSOUND preamplifier, then confirm power supply, cable, connector and data-acquisition input requirements.

Selecting the Measurement Chain

Accurate acoustic measurement depends on the complete signal chain. Therefore, confirm the microphone field type, sensitivity, dynamic range, preamplifier, connector, cable, constant-current supply, data-acquisition input and calibration method as one system. Metromatics can help review these interfaces before quotation.
