The Impulse Hammer from Dytran Instruments is used to excite structures or machinery with a definable impulse force. Resonances are identified by the impulse.  Firstly, this is an important measurement parameter for the study of dynamic behaviour.  Secondly, it helps determine the overall structural health of a test specimen.
