Rugged Display 24″ ARD24

The Spectra ARD24 is a 23.8″ rugged 4K display for command and control, mission-system visualisation and other demanding defence applications. With native 3840 × 2160 resolution, brightness up to 1000 nits and a fully enclosed IP66 aluminium housing.  It delivers detailed imagery across airborne platforms, tactical vehicles, mobile shelters and naval environments.

Configurable video inputs, flexible mounting and optional touch screen, NVG-compatible backlighting and cold-start heaters help match the display to your platform requirements.

The ARD24 rugged 4K display combines a high-resolution viewing area with a compact, passively cooled enclosure. Designed for command and control applications.  It supports the presentation of detailed maps, sensor imagery, video feeds and mission information.

Its native 3840 × 2160 resolution provides four times the pixel count of Full HD. In addition, support for 1080p and other non-native input resolutions allows integration with systems using different video formats.

The ARD24 weighs approximately 7.7 kg.  In addition, offers flexible mounting options, configurable I/O and AC or DC power input. As a result, system designers can tailor the display to the available installation space, power supply and operator interface requirements.

Key Features

  • 23.8″ 4K UHD display: Native 3840 × 2160 resolution for detailed mission-system imagery.
  • High-brightness viewing: Published maximum brightness of 1000 nits, with sunlight-readable panel options.
  • High contrast: Contrast ratio greater than 1400:1.
  • Flexible video connectivity: HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort, DVI-I and 3G-SDI inputs, depending on configuration.
  • Sealed aluminium construction: IP66 enclosure with passive cooling and no fans or ventilation openings.
  • AC or DC power: Supports 18–36 VDC or 110/220 VAC at 47–440 Hz.
  • Remote operation: RS-232 remote control, with optional interfaces for touch screen or bezel-button integration.
  • Configurable operator controls: Optional touch screen, programmable bezel buttons and NVG-compatible backlighting.
  • Cold-weather option: Optional heaters extend the published operating range down to −40°C.

Clear Visualisation Across Different Operating Conditions

The ARD24 uses a TFT LCD panel with LED backlighting to present detailed imagery in demanding operational environments. Its 4K resolution supports applications where operators need to interpret fine detail or view multiple information sources.

Furthermore, Spectra offers high-bright sunlight-readable panels and NVG-compatible backlighting options. These allow the display configuration to be selected for the platform’s daytime visibility and night-operation requirements.

Designed for Platform Integration

Configurable video inputs and flexible mounting options help integrate the ARD24 into new systems or existing consoles. HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort, DVI-I and 3G-SDI connectivity support a range of mission-computing and video sources.

Operators can use the power and brightness/menu controls, while RS-232 enables remote control. Optional programmable bezel buttons and touch screen interfaces provide additional flexibility for application-specific operator layouts.

The fully enclosed aluminium housing provides IP66 sealing. Meanwhile, passive cooling removes the need for cooling fans and ventilation openings.

Typical Applications

The ARD24 rugged 4K display is suitable for:

  • Airborne mission systems: Displaying mission information, sensor imagery and command and control interfaces.
  • Combat and tactical vehicles: Supporting vehicle-mounted situational awareness and operator consoles.
  • Mobile shelters: Providing high-resolution visualisation for deployed command and control systems.
  • Naval environments: Integrating into shipboard consoles and mission-system displays.
