Ruggedized Keyboards

Cortron Ruggedized Keyboards are designed for Military and Industrial Applications. They are available from Metromatics in Australia. Due to their design, they meet and exceed the toughest applications and requirements.

Cortron has designed their Keyboards to be modular in nature – pick a keyboard model and choose the following

  1. Standard and custom enclosures, cables and connectors
  2. USB and PS2 interfaces
  3. Various pointing devices
  4. Internal USB hubs
  5. Custom legends and back lighting
  6. Choose Mounting Options

More importantly, all Cortron rugged grade keyboards are designed to meet rugged MIL-STD-810 Environmental, UL & CE standards. Configuration for MIL-STD-901D Shock and MIL-HDBK is optional– as well as other industry standards.

Vital electronics are sealed. Therefore, the keyboards withstand water, beverages, sand, dust, dirt and chemicals and can simply be cleaned with soap and hot water. Also, high speed data entry, reduce strain on operator and other features are customised to your requirements

Recommended in Australian Defence Applications for reliability. Such as Naval Vessels, Ground Mobile Units, Airborne and Severe Industrial applications such as Air Traffic Towers.

  • Sealed rain proof, spill proof/sand and dust proof (IP65 and MIL-STD-810) construction
  • EMI/RFI/ESD/EMP shielded and protected for critical applications
  • Optional Extreme High Shock Protection (+100gs): Includes shock sensing (Stop Codes) and keycap clips as well as other options

  • Connectors: Pair IBM PS2 6 pin Mini DINs pair USB, or per customer request.
  • Length: Standard 6 feet or per customer request.

  • Durable metal enclosure with scratch resistant finish.
  • Panel mount, rack mount, wall mount, table top and custom modifications available upon request.
  • Enclosure Colours: Standard are black, Navy gray, Army green, and off-white;
  • Custom colours are available upon request.
  • Slide kits compatible to 19” RETMA racks (17.75” opening) per MIL-STD-189 and EIA RS-310.
  • High quality ball bearing slides with Lock-in / Lock-out / Quick Disconnect.
