Acromag’s QMC Series I/O modules and PCIe carrier cards are now available for purchase from Metromatics. Designed to meet the new VITA 93 mezzanine standard. These rugged, high-density modules are engineered to bring more performance to embedded systems. Especially where space, weight, and power are at a premium.
What is VITA 93?
VITA 93 is a newly introduced small form factor mezzanine standard developed by the VMEbus International Trade Association (VITA). It defines a compact module size of just 26 x 78.25 mm. Less than a quarter the size of traditional PMC/XMC modules—yet it supports advanced features such as:
- PCIe Gen4 x4 host interfaces
- Up to 40 I/O signals via high-density connectors
- Standardised conduction cooling using optional skyline heat sinks
- Platform management support (IPMI)
- Cross-platform compatibility, encouraging ecosystem development
This standard enables the design of smaller, smarter embedded systems for demanding environments in defence, aerospace, transportation, scientific research, and industrial automation.
